Mother's Day is a wonderful tradition that is celebrated in many countries around the world. Often known as Mothers' Sunday or Mothering Sunday it is a day to say thank you to Mum and celebrate all that is good about Motherhood.
 
Originating in the Christian Church the name Mothering Sunday initially referred to the day when people returned to their ‘Mother Church' which also allowed them a rare opportunity to visit their families.
 
In the UK Mother's Day is held on the 4th Sunday in Lent which is why the event is on a different day every year.
